Year 12 and 13 students worked with Dixon both at their own school site and in Byam Shaw’s workshops, using a mixture of drawing and sculptural processes, including body casting and using clay.
Students used the experience of working in new materials and with large formats in Byam Shaw’s spaces, as a bridging process for their move to further education in a different college building.
The residency concluded with a celebratory event for students, siblings, parents and teachers from The Bridge School at Byam Shaw School of Art. Participating students exhibited their work in Byam Shaw’s Concourse Gallery, and students and staff from every class at Bridge School came to Byam Shaw to visit the exhibition HereMyself.
